F1600 Veteran Czuba Ready with Team Pelfrey
Team Pelfrey announced today Dexter Czuba will compete in the signature yellow No. 81 F1600 Honda powered machine, participating in selected Pro Series and the Hoosier SCCA Super Tour.
"I am very excited to be racing with Team Pelfrey over the upcoming season! While I can't compete full time due to my college commitments, I believe that the races I can participate in will be a great experience.” Czuba also added “My goal this season is to be able to race in the lead pack at every event this year and gain a few podiums and even a win along the way."
The 20-year-old from Hollis, New Hampshire will enter his fifth season in an F1600 car, alongside his new teammate, Josh Green. Last season, Czuba finished the F1600 Championship Series in 4th place among 32 competitors. This included two 1st place and a 2nd place finish in U.S. Major Tour events as well as a 2nd place finish and multiple top five finishes in the F1600 Championship Series.
“The offseason for us has been interesting but adding Dexter and Josh in the last few weeks has our team very excited and motivated,” said Geoff Bushor, team principal of Team Pelfrey F1600. “Experience anywhere in racing is important, but Dexter’s knowledge around these circuits will prove invaluable. We’re grateful to have a driver with such exceptional experience at these tracks.”
Dexter Czuba has quite the impressive bio. Besides working to obtain a degree in Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), he enjoys and has excelled in skiing, tennis, astronomy, and robotics.
Czuba’s first event with Team Pelfrey will be Hoosier racing tires SCCA Super Tour at Virginia International Raceway in April. With the announcement of Czuba, Team Pelfrey is well on its way back to a three, and possibly four car line up and plans to be a dominating force throughout the year.
