Formula Race Promotions Set for Exciting 2022 Race Season
"Popular tracks highlight another season in FRP"
With the conclusion of the 2021 season, the Formula Race Promotions (FRP) staff has been hard at work preparing for their 2022 campaign. Outlining seven event weekends that will begin in April and end in October, the next season will have a similar look to 2021 but with a couple of changed dates and see events in South Carolina, Ohio, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and West Virginia.
“We are excited to announce our 2022 schedule,” explained Robert Wright. “We worked hard to keep everything as consistent as possible for our teams and the competitors. Even though this year just ended, we are already planning the details of the new season. Look for further announcements with rule changes and other specifics in the coming months.”
Wright continued, “Our season will begin at Carolina Motorsports Park in April before visiting the famed Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course later that month. From there, we will race once a month starting in May at Barber Motorsports Park, Early June at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex, a new date in July at the Autobahn, then traditional dates in August at Summit Point and concluding back at Pittsburgh in October.”
2022 Season Schedule
April 1-3 - Carolina Motorsports Park
April 29- May 1 – Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
May 20-22 - Barber Motorsports Park
June 3-5 - Pittsburgh International Race Complex
July 8-10 – Autobahn Country Club
Aug 19-21 - Summit Point Motorsports Park
October 14-16 - Pittsburgh Intl Raceway Complex
“The goal of FRP is to provide a home for both young racers looking to hone their skills, as well as experienced veterans who race for the competition and enjoyment,” added Wright. “While we make every effort to make FRP the most affordable program in the country and the highest green flag laps per dollar, we also want to provide the best program possible and we feel that our 2022 schedule will accomplish that.
Heading into the 2022 season, F1600 and F2000 teams and competitors can expect to be at each event on the calendar while the Atlantic competitors are currently slated to run at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Barber Motorsports Park and at least one event at Pittsburgh. We hope to have one or two additional events strictly for the Atlantics on a TBA basis.
