Gabriel Cahan and Ayrton Cahan Lock in Race Plans for 2025 with Eric Langbein Racing
After a successful rookie season in the 2024 Formula Race Promotions program, the brother duo of Gabriel and Ayrton Cahan will return in 2025. Selling off the assets of their Cahan Racing Team effort, the duo will join Eric Langbein Racing for the upcoming season as they look to continue their success in the competitive and challenging F1600 class.
“This year I’m making a big switch from F2000 to the 1600 class,” expressed Gabriel Cahan, the 2024 F2000 FRP Champion. “I realized that in order for me to be quick in the next steps in my career, I need to have more mechanical grip experience and race in a more competitive class. FC was a great learning experience; however, I need to learn more and improve my craft. I am very much looking forward to racing in 1600 this coming year.”
Ayrton Cahan, who steadily improved throughout the season to run near the front of the most competitive F1600 class in the nation, added, “I’m extremely excited for another year of F1600. Last year, I learned a lot, but this year, I’m going to learn even more. I am ready to get back in the car and head back to some of the most iconic tracks in the nation. I have the championship in my sight!”
In addition to competing in the FRP F1600 ranks, the Cahan duo will also continue testing USF2000 cars in preparation for the future.
“For the best interest of the racers, we decided to sell our assets but return to FRP differently in 2024,” explained Gabriel and Ayrton’s mother, Tara Tometich. “We have a pair of talented drivers that need more experience, but another year in FRP allows us to work on our marketing and funding package for the 2026 season. Both boys have big dreams, and we are working hard to make those dreams become a reality.”
The 2025 Formula Race Promotions season will kick off in late March at Road Atlanta before the Cahans compete at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Pittsburgh International Race Complex, Road America, Watkins Glen International, New Jersey Motorsports Park, and Summit Point Motorsports Park.
