Grant Beats Leguizamon to Win at PittRace

August 5, 2018

Wampum, PA – Keith Grant didn’t crack under pressure, taking the victory after a near-race long battle with Baltazar Leguizamon in round nine of the 2018 Atlantic Championship Series season. Grant took the hard-fought victory for Polestar Racing at Pittsburgh International Race Complex during the Keystone Speedfest. K-Hill’s Leguizamon finished second to extend his sizable points lead while Blake Mount came home third at the 18-turn track.

Quotes:

Keith Grant: “The car handled great all day. Polestar set me up just perfect with the car. It was real smooth, drivable and predicable for the entire race. We had a lot of fun today; it was hot, but it was fun. As soon as we broke the draft we gapped (Baltazar). I was trying to do it the entire race, but he stayed with us; finally, 10 laps from the end we broke it.”

Baltazar Leguizamon: “My car was very good in the corners, we had a very good balance. We need to find some straight-line speed for tomorrow. We are strong. I took it easy on the start, and we are sitting in a good position in the Championship. I am taking care of the car, and that is the most important thing.”

Blake Mount: “Dario (Dario Cangialosi) never gave me a break the entire race, he was on my tail. I am happy to bring it home in third.”

Atlantic competitors can next look forward to Sunday morning qualifying and their second and final race of the Keystone Speedfest weekend event from Pittsburgh International Race Complex, scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
