Leguizamon Atlantic Champion; Wins at NJMP
Millville, NJ – The 2018 Atlantic Championship Series title-winner kept up his dominating season on Saturday afternoon at New Jersey Motorsports Park as Baltazar Leguizamon led flag-to-flag to win at Thunderbolt for K-Hill Motorsports. The round 13 winner took the checkered flags ahead of a pair of his teammates with Blake Mount in second and Bruce Hamilton in third.
Leguizamon, who hails from Argentina, will be crowned champion at the Sunday evening Formula Race Promotions’ awards banquet. It’s also another title for his team, K-Hill Motorsports, who won the Atlantic Series in 2014, 2016 and 2017.
Among the Championship prizes will also be a limited edition time piece from Series partner LIV Watches as Leguizamon will take home a GX1-A Swiss Made Auto Gray IP Case Watch with a Blue Dial.
Reflecting on the season, Leguizamon added: “My personal highlight of the season was Watkins Glen in the rain; that was awesome to drive with the Atlantic car.”
Coming into the year, he said his expectation was to do a good job, and learn how to handle the beast of an Atlantic car.
“I’m going to miss how good the balance of the car is and how fast it is,” he added.
The Atlantic Championship Series season continues with its season finale, round 14 of the 2018 season, from the Thunderbolt circuit at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Sunday, September 16.
