Leguizamon Continues Ohio Charge
Lexington, OH – From pole, K-Hill Motorsports driver Baltazar Leguizamon scored the win at Mid-Ohio to take his sixth victory of the Atlantic Championship Series season. It was a dominating performance for the Argentinean driver in round seven of the season, despite a mid-race pit stop under caution. The No. 9 took the win over Polestar’s Lewis Cooper Jr., who Leguizamon passed for the race lead with 10 laps to go.
Leguizamon commented: “We had a little problem we solved with a pit stop. It was a calm end to the race, it was a good run. The car was difficult to drive in these (hot conditions), but it was a good result overall. The car was sliding at the end.”
Cooper Jr. said: “It doesn’t hurt to hang around. I was thinking today that I first came to this track in 1958 racing a lay-down enduro kart. It’s a great track and it never gets out of your system.”
Round eight of the Atlantic Championship Series season is up next, scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Mid-Ohio.
