Minor Cruises to Summit Point Win
Summit Point, WV – Tim Minor led an entire green flag race from start to finish to take the win at Summit Point in round 11 of the 2018 F2000 Championship Series season in his first start of the year. Points leader Steve Jenks finished. Coming from last, James Roe broke the existing track record to finish third.
Quotes:
Minor: “I haven’t been out in the car much this year. This is a tough track and to come up here and run against these guys you have to bring your best game. I need to thank Hoosier, what a fantastic tire man. I was able to run the same lap time lap after lap. The car never gave up. Lap one was a little interesting but you give and take.”
Jenks: “Points were definitely on my mind. Tim was won the Series a few times and is a great driver. I was chasing him as hard as I could. I had a nice race with Brandon (Dixon) as well, he was right on me.”
Roe: “The last few races we didn’t have much pace. We came here and had some issues, and this goes to John Walko. He said we should change cars, and we did and set a new lap record.”
F2000 action continues from Sunday at Summit Point with the second and final race of the weekend.
