Rickards Signs with K-Hill
Garth Rickards has signed with K-Hill Motorsports for the 2015 Atlantic Championship Series season. He will be competing with K-Hill Motorsports in the majority of the 2015 Atlantic Championship, as well as qualifying for the SCCA Runoffs. In 2014 Rickards finished runner-up in the F1600 Championship Series with one race win.
K-Hill Motorsports dominated last year’s Atlantic championship and has been pursuing Rickards to join the team ever since an impressive first outing for the team at Sebring earlier this year. Rickards will compete in a total of eight Atlantic races in 2015, in addition to the SCCA Runoffs, missing the events that clash with his USF2000 commitments.
"I'm really exited for Garth to be joining our team and to be driving the car that won the championship last year," commented Kris Kaiser, K-Hill Motorsports team owner. "I think that Garth and Conner Kearby will push each other at every race."
Rickards is also excited for the journey ahead, and having witnessed his close friend Graham Rahal compete successfully in the Atlantic championship back in 2006, he has been wanting to compete in the series ever since.
:I am honored to have been given this opportunity by the K-Hill Motorsports organization, and I’m stoked to be working with them. After my first outing with the team and car in January at Sebring, I knew I wanted to get back in an Atlantic car again," said Rickards. "My Dad, Snap 21 and my other partners have made this all possible and I don’t think I could ever thank them enough for helping me put this together. I think the Atlantic car will help me not only this year, but also as I move up the ladder as down force and horsepower levels increase. My goal in both series is simply to continue learning and to be competing for podium positions. We have a lot of work do to before the first races and I can’t wait to get started.”
Garth’s first Atlantic appearance of the year will be at Watkins Glen International on May 16-17.
