Season in Review: Yuven Sundaramoorthy
Yuven Sundaramoorthy came out of his sophomore F1600 Championship Series campaign with a third-place Championship result for K-Hill Motorsports, backed up by multiple race wins and podium after podium finish in the No. 13 Mygale/Honda.
“My highlight was definitely the whole Mid-Ohio weekend. I managed to lead the far majority of the laps and came away with a win,” said the teenager.
While Mid-Ohio delivered a strong win, Sundaramoorthy said his favorite track was Summit Point, with the short nature of the track making it easy to adapt to.
Another victory came at Watkins Glen, while second-place runs came at VIR, Mid-Ohio, PittRace twice during the Keystone Speedfest and New Jersey Motorsports Park.
In his second season of pro-level competition, Sundaramoorthy explained that he continued to expand his race craft throughout the season and work on his track awareness.
All the race weekends are pretty similar for me. I go into practice and qualifying trying to gain that little bit of speed, and then focus on strategy for the race,” he said.
Among his advice to younger racers is to know where to position your car on the last lap for an opportunistic pass.
