Team Pelfrey Signs Dylan Christie for 2020 Run
Tampa, Florida—Team Pelfrey is thrilled to announce that Dylan Christie will occupy the No. 82 yellow Honda powered Mygale for the 2020 season. The young driver will not only be competing in the Formula Race Promotions F1600 Series, but also a handful of SCCA events and F1600 Canada series, which includes the Grand Prix du Canada.
When asked about the upcoming opportunity with the team, Christie stated, “I am beyond optimistic about my upcoming season with Team Pelfrey. The professionalism shown by Team Pelfrey in helping me adapt from a race kart to a legitimate formula car is beyond helpful. From watching video, viewing data, and a general awareness of how I feel in the car, Pelfrey has helped me grow tremendously through my test at Roebling Road and my first race at Sebring. Through the FRP pro series and F1600 Canada races I look forward to Team Pelfrey’s support throughout the season.”
After only one test and race weekend this winter, Christie proved his eagerness to learn on and off track. “We are overjoyed to welcome such an ambitious young man to our team. His determination and desire for knowledge will prove invaluable in his future successes,” said Geoff Bushor, Team Principal.
In 2016 Christie started his competitive karting career, and by the conclusion of the 2017 season he had finished 2nd in the F Series State Championship with Tag Jr. After joining Mike Doty Racing the following year, Dylan finished an impressive 4th place at the SKUSA Supernats Ka100 Jr final. That same year Christie also attended and won the Bertil Roos Grad Camp Race. In 2019 Dylan continued racing with Mike Doty Racing, earning numerous national podiums.
